1. Who May Enroll
Students who have obtained a bachelor’s degree in Law (at least three years of study) or a degree in any other discipline (at least three years of study) are eligible to apply, provided they have successfully completed exams or earned credits (CFU) in at least two of the following areas: Economics, Law, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
2. Language Requirements
Students who are not native English speakers must prove English proficiency at a minimum B2 level. This can be demonstrated through certificates obtained during undergraduate studies or through one of the following recognized tests:
- Cambridge English Language Assessment (First)
- IELTS (score 5.5–6.5)
- Trinity College (GESE Grades 7–9)
- TOEFL iBT (score 46–93)
- University of Oxford, OTE (minimum overall score of 111)
No language certificate is required for students who have completed their studies at institutions where English is the sole language of instruction
3. When to Submit Your Application
You may apply for a pre-assessment of your eligibility starting from 1 February 2025. To initiate the pre-assessment process, please submit your CV (curriculum vitae) and a letter of motivation to the Department of Law at Link identifier #identifier__10309-1master.lawtech@uniroma3.it.
Candidates whose CVs are consistent with the requirements will be invited to attend an online interview to evaluate their individual preparation and motivation. If, at the end of the interview, you are evaluated as eligible for admission, you will still need to wait for the publication of the official call for applications to all master’s programs at Università Roma Tre (expected in May). Once the official call is published you will be able to complete the formal application process as outlined below (see point 5).
Please note that the pre-assessment is optional and does not have any bearing on the study visa application process. Applicants may choose to directly submit their formal application once the admission call has been published. However, in this case as well, candidates whose documentation is consistent with the requirements will be invited to attend an online interview to evaluate their individual preparation and motivation. The deadline for submitting the formal admission application is 15 September 2025. However, applications will still be accepted until December 15, 2025, with a late submission fee of €40. Applications submitted by September 15 will receive a decision by the end of September.
4. For students who have not graduated in Italy
The following documents are required for the formal admission:
- officially certified copy of Bachelor’s degree, accompanied by its translation into Italian and by a declaration of value issued by the Italian Consulate in the foreign country. The declaration of value may be substituted by the Statement of Comparability and Verification issued by CIMEA;
- transcript of records (that is a list of course units taken during your Bachelor studies, the exams you passed and the credits gained), accompanied by its translation in Italian or in English.
5. How to Submit Your Application
The formal admission process will commence upon the publication of the call for admission to all master’s programs at Roma Tre University, expected in May 2025. The application for admission includes the following steps:

- Once the registration is completed, the system will assign you the login credentials (a username and password) called Roma3Pass, which will allow you to access the online reserved area and all online University services;
- Submit your application on Link identifier #identifier__146534-5this page. Follow the instructions in the Link identifier #identifier__87954-6Guide to application and upload all the documents proving that you meet the requirements for admission.

6. Interview
After you have completed the formal admission procedure (as described in point 5 above), you will be invited to an online interview to verify your individual preparation and motivation. After completing the interview, you will receive a response regarding your eligibility for admission. Applicants who have followed the pre-assessment procedure and have been considered eligible for admission do not need to take the interview. Formal admission will be communicated after all the documentation has been checked by the University offices.
7. If You Need an Entry Visa
An entry visa is not required for European Union citizens or foreign nationals already legally residing in Italy. However, international students who need to apply for an entry visa must pre-enroll on the Link identifier #identifier__85178-10UNIVERSITALY portal. The deadline for applications on UNIVERSITALY is September 15.
Pre-enrollment on the UNIVERSITALY portal is mandatory and must be completed before submitting your formal application to the master’s program and before applying for a visa at Italian Consulates or Embassies.
