The course aims to provide an understanding of the main regulatory models for emerging technologies from a comparative perspective, with particular attention to the interplay between security, the protection of fundamental rights, and the integrity of democratic institutions. Through the analysis of cases from the US and the European area, students will develop the ability to assess the socio-political and legal implications of new technologies, as well as to interpret and compare different governance strategies adopted across national contexts.
