The proposed activity aims to expose students to particularly relevant cases and issues of Roman private law. In order to explore some fundamental areas of Roman private law (including, in particular, real rights and obligations), the theoretical concepts learned in the "Institutions of Roman Law" course will be integrated by the analysis of selected case studies. This will allow students to experience the typical case-based method of Roman jurisprudence, to learn the argumentative logic employed to resolve practical problems and to better understand the nature of the Roman system as an “open legal system”.
