Through direct contact with medieval sources and a seminarial methodology, the course will display the creation of the idea of legal norm in 12th and 13th centuries; it will also consider the evolution of legal institutions like property and real rights, obligations, legal personality.

Evaluation of the students will be based 40% on their engagement during the course, 30% on a mid-term exam, and 30% on the final oral exam.
