THE COURSE WILL FIRST PROVIDE AN INTRODUCTION TO THE LAW AND THE HUMANITIES MOVEMENT IN GENERAL AND THEN FOCUS ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT, EVEN IF STRICTLY CONNECTED, FIELDS OF STUDY: e.g. LAW AND LITERATURE, LAW AND PHILOSOPHY, LAW AND ARCHITECTURE, LAW AND ICONOGRAPHY, LAW AND ARCHAEOLOGY, LAW AND MUSIC. THE COURSE WILL QUESTION THE TRADITIONAL ISOLATION OF LEGAL STUDIES IN ANALYSING LAW WITH REFERENCE TO THE OTHER SOCIAL SCIENCES AND, MORE GENERALLY, TO A LARGER CULTURAL CONTEXT. TEXTS, SYMBOLS AND REPRESENTATIONS, WHICH HAVE GREATLY INFLUENCED POPULAR UNDERSTANDING OF LAW, WILL BE DISCUSSED BY PROFESSORS AND PHD STUDENTS COMING FROM DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD, EACH OF WHOM WILL BE TEACHING 1-6 LESSONS ON A SPECIFIC TOPIC.

Programma
All the English courses carry 4 ECTS for “Legal English/Lingua giuridica” which will be granted after passing the relevant exam. In order to follow the courses in English and to be able to obtain the 4 additional ECTS in Legal English (‘Attività – Lingua giuridica’) with the final examination, students must have a B1-level language certificate. The 4 additional ECTS in Legal English may only be awarded once, i.e. only for one course. The courses called ‘Lingua giuridica’ (‘Legal English’) cannot be selected as individual courses but only be added to the corresponding course with the same name.Testi Adottati
Every thematic week will be associated to introductory papers which will be progressively uploaded on the ‘Roma Tre’ Moodle platform.Modalità Erogazione
The course will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays in presence; Wednesdays online. Classes will always be from 12.00 to 13.30. Attendance in class is compulsory to be admitted to the final examination, which will cover all the topics discussed during the course.Modalità Frequenza
