The course aims to provide students with the acquisition of a basic knowledge of the principles and rules of general administrative law, with particular regard to the issues of the development of administrative law, administrative organization, provision and administrative procedure, with a look at new trends in the field, both in the context of European law and with regard to the use of new technologies, through the analysis of regulatory sources and jurisprudence. A part of the course will be dedicated to a topic of specific interest for the degree course, namely the legal protection of animals, with an in-depth analysis of the regulatory, jurisprudential and doctrinal evolution on the subject both at European and national level.
At the end of the course students will have acquired: - mastery of the institutes and general theory of administrative law, as well as familiarity with the more general issues concerning the issue of animal welfare protection at national and European level with particular regard to public law profiles; the critical awareness of the continuous change in the regulatory framework at issue that concerns the public administration and the specific sector of animal protection, as well as the ability to understand and analise the most relevant issues on the subject.

The exam will take place in oral form. The test has the function of verifying the level of learning of the issues covered, the student's familiarity with legal terminology and the ability to make critical thinking and logical connections. The test will be evaluated from a minimum mark of 18/30 which requires a basic knowledge of the topics covered, to a maximum mark of 30/30 cum laude which requires excellent knowledge of the program, ability to connect the different topics to possibly carry out some critical reflections and language skills. In case of the students who attend the lectures intermidiary forms of evaluation will be taken into consideration To have access to the exam, students must pre-register online, in case of difficulty in registering, it is necessary to notify the professor within the day before that of the exam, by sending an e-mail to his institutional address.
